Meet Our Pastors

Derek & Kyra Meekins | Senior Pastor & Women’s Ministry Director

Pastor Derek was born and raised in Fremont, Ca. He graduated from Fremont Christian High School in 1985 and then went on to study Theology at Christ for the Nations in Dallas, Texas. It was there God called him to full time ministry. He continued his education and graduated from Bethany University in Scotts Valley, CA with a B.A. in Church Leadership. He then served full time as a Children’s Pastor in both California and Arizona. In 1999 Pastor Meekins accepted the senior pastor position at Sunset Community Church in Livermore, CA and for the next seven years served that church. In 2008 he accepted the position as senior pastor of Harvest Valley Church, Pleasanton, CA where he is faithfully serving today. Along with his Theology degree, Pastor Meekins studied law and has his MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Pastor Derek Meekins and his lovely wife Kyra met at Christ For the Nations in Dallas, Texas in 1985 and were married in 1987. For the last 29 years the two have been serving in ministry together and fulfilling God’s calling on their lives. Their primary purpose for ministry has been to train up and release people into their God given potential. 

Pastor Derek & Kyra are blessed with two sons and an amazing daughter-in-law: Christian and Jon & Stephanie (married 2023).
